Choosing The Way

Planning to run from Brisbane to Sydney is one thing, working out the way to run is another.

I’ve been able to make contact with Andrew Hedgeman who’s introduced me to an app called Mapmyrun in which you can specify your start and end point and an option to avoid any motorways (which is both unappealing and luckily not permitted) – perfect!

Mapmyrun will let me plan the route and touch on places like Byron Bay and Coffs Harbour, working out exactly where i need to run and where my stops will be along the way.

At the moment the run is predicted to span ~1004km and I’ve given myself 2-3 weeks to complete it.  That’s roughly 50-70kms a day. Its not exactly record setting pace, but I’m not out to set any records. I want to set a challenge beyond anything I’ve done before – enter the pain cave, experience the highs and the lows and bring along the people nearest and dearest to me to share the experience.

The plan, simply put, is to run an ultra a day for 21 days or less and come out the other side a little bit changed.
