The Run starts 3rd of July!

With the RV booked and a start date picked it was time to go public with the idea. Here is the announcement I made via Facebook and Instagram…

My name is Andrew Kwintowski. I’m a professional photographer and a big time running enthusiast.

This July I’ve set myself the challenge of running from King George Square in Brisbane to the steps of the Opera House in Sydney – a journey just a few clicks over 1000km and I have a little less than 3 weeks to do it in.

My support crew will consist of my parents traveling in a motorhome and meeting me at various points throughout each day.

As well as being an epic adventure of many highs and lows, my family is sentimentally connected with the honey bee – dad runs some 30 hives throughout Perth – so my goal for the run is to raise awareness for the plight of the honey bee. I’d love to help encourage the public to support local beekeepers by sourcing their honey from these hard working families and thereby also help strengthen bee colonies in Australia and elsewhere.

If this cause resonates with you and you’d like to get on board, here’s just a few things you can do…

1- Buy Local! I’ve already started a list, but if you know of any beekeepers and would like me to give them a shout out, please feel free to comment below or send me a private message and I’ll do my best to incorporate them in my planning.

2- A Driveway! If you live somewhere along the coast between Brisbane and Sydney and can spare a few meters of your driveway for one night – we would be grateful! We are completely self contained so you won’t even know we are there. Please PM me.

3- Come for a run! I have a set pace I need to stick to, so can’t guarantee I’ll be able to keep up or slow down, but if you’re willing to give it a go for a few kilometers, company is always welcome! Route details to come.

That’s it for now!

If you’re keen to follow along, I have recently started a blog site here: http://beerun.beyondultras.com and also have an instagram account: @beyondultras.
