Ready for take off & a Honey Competition!

With two more sleeps until the Bee Run starts, I’m frantically trying to make sure I have all my work finished, away messages set and necessities bought and packed.

None of these have been completed yet – but what is an adventure without a little craziness before you start!

What I can report is that the foot is almost completely healed. I’ve been able to go for a few runs this week with only minimal discomfort – most of which numbs out once I get in to my groove. I feel I can finally say I’m ready to run and can’t wait to get started!

I have a little secret… in our cupboard we keep a small container of store bought honey* and every now and then we take a little taste to see how it compares to real raw honey straight from the hive. Needless to say – it doesn’t even come close, the aftertaste is terrible and lets not get started on its nutritious content which has been no doubt removed through the various ‘heating’ processes as it was packed.

I’ve decided to run a little competition**. I will post (or deliver) a tub of real raw natural honey to two lucky bee lovers if they can guess the following:
1. The date and time that I will arrive at the steps of the Sydney Opera House; and
2. The total distance in km that I will cover in order to get there.

Clues for these are located on my “Route” page, but remember the plan there is only a guide.. I may need to add an extra rest day and distances aren’t exact.

Finally, if anyone is keen to join me for a few kilometers, the offer is always open! Check out my Route page and I will do my best to keep it updated a couple of days in advance.

Now to get some shut-eye!

* I need to mention that not all store bought honey is to be avoided. Be sure to check the label of the honey you buy to make sure that it is 100% pure Australian honey produced in Australian Apiaries.

** Competition Rules:
1. You must comment at the bottom of this blog to be considered.
2. Winner must live in Australia as this is where the honey will be delivered.
3. If two people make the same correct guess, the winner shall be the first person to make the guess.
4. One person cannot win both honey tubs. If the same person guesses both questions correctly, the person with the next closest guess for question 2 will be the winner of the second honey tub.
5. If a dispute arises, the winner(s) will be selected at my discretion. (I’ll use my best judgement to make sure fair is fair!)
6. Competition closes at midnight on Friday 7th of July, 2017, and winners announced by the 1st of August, 2017.
